About Caldecote
A Steam Fair is a very British event, they usually involve a field, vintage steam engines, tractors, cars, trade stalls, arena events such as displays and shows, and craft stalls. They really are a step back in time and a very British, country event.
Caldecote is no different, we have all of those and more but rather than being a Steam Fair, we are a Steam Party. This event was built up thanks to one man, Cyril Bugby. He was a keen Steam Engine enthusiast, and one year, for his birthday his friends and fellow engine owners gathered in the corner of a field to celebrate; hence the party.
The Caldecote Steam Party is now in it's 34th year, Cyril is no longer with us but a dedicated group of volunteers from the village and beyond put on the steam party every year in aid of the upkeep of the Parish Church and Village Hall.

Caldecote Parish Church (registered charity number: 249165) holds services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month together with additional services at the traditional times. However the building requires constant and costly upkeep and with costly affiliation fees, the money raised by the Steam Party is vital.
Caldecote Village Hall (registered charity number: 232001) provides an important service to the local community and has been held in trust by villagers since 19xx. The income provided by the Steam Party is vital in continuing upkeep and repairs. If you are interested in renting the village hall for several hours, please contact me via the page above and I will pass on your details.
